What is GOATA ?

GOATA is a movement system that is observation based. It stands for the „Greatest of all time actions“ from the „Greatest of all time athletes“ and was founded by Jose Guilly Boesch.

By years of analyzing movement patterns from the world’s best and most injury resistant athletes, he noticed that for some reasons they never really got hurt in their sports and had long and successful careers.

Similar movement behavior you can see in indigenous tribes, kids and animals. We all carry this movement patterns genetically inside of us but are victims of modern society. Many stimuli we face daily impair our movement quality.

By reconnecting with nature and training inside the design of nature’s blueprint, you will regain full functionality.

What I’ve learned over and over as a coach and trainer is that the body will adapt to whatever stimulus its given.

has yet succeeded to activate those patterns in a systematic and useful way. As the DNA itself, our movements are meant to be spiral.

The problem with the training industry

For years, I have questioned my own training habits and lived under the illusion that conventional strength training and rehabilitation methods would solve my problems. In the end, they only caused more trouble. I started preparing my body for professional football at a young age, unaware that I was on the wrong track. My injuries severely limited me physically, and I wondered why I still experienced pain despite continuous strength training and therapy. Day after day, I searched for a solution.

I used to believe that being stronger would result in fewer injuries. Now I understand that this narrow-minded thinking, combined with the ignorance of coaches, is detrimental to most athletes. Unfortunately, the most important aspects that make an athlete are not taught in schools and universities.

Everything is based on evaluated data and statistics that hold no significance for the individuality of an athlete or, more importantly, as a human being. One critical question is the extent to which the acquired knowledge has significance and applicability to a person whose individual movement sequence is not even considered. Even if subjected to a conventional running analysis, their diagnosis is still based on outdated textbooks and remains unclear.

The human body is complex, yet its function can be understood in its simplicity. We can discuss the unique structure of the body, including each muscle, bone, and tendon. As unique as it may be, the key is to learn about its simplicity and experience it firsthand, something unfamiliar to most people today. Everyone possesses this innate natural ability, waiting to be unleashed.

The biggest problem is that the linear training concepts are widespread in all football and sports clubs worldwide. According to the motto: If the masses do it, then I’ll do it too. Or: If the masses do it, then it must be good.

That is the reason why many athletes break down physically and can’t find a solution. Injury after injury, painkillers, treatments: all just to be able to play on weekends. And despite the professional support, the misery has not stopped. After years of experience, it has become clear to me why some athletes are injury prone and the other relatively injury resistant. The further you move away from your innate design, the bigger is the risk that you’ll hurt yourself.

The same happened with me.

Through my own experience what it really feels like to train and live according to the human body’s natural blueprint, I can say with great conviction that it has changed my life and my perspective on everything I’ve seen and felt on my own body related to strength training and performance in sports.
